Okay, I've just gotten my schedule sorted for next semester and my clinicals are going to be absurd. There are so many hospitals they could've placed me in that would've given me opportunities to meet new people and get a handle on various specialties, but they've decided to put me at Irving. And it's not like Irving's bad, obviously, it's got state of the art facilities, but it's also full of practicing attendings and surgeons that I already know because cross privileges are a thing.

Which - it's convenient, I get it. I'm not actually upset about not having to worry about changing commutes or anything like that, it's mostly just... I thought I'd be going somewhere new.

Anyway, happy clinical placement day to me (yesterday). Anybody want to meet up at Harry's or something?

Irving's great. That's not what I'm disappointed about. It's that all the same doctors I'm already familiar with will be the people I'm learning from at Irving, so the chance of exposure to new techniques and innovations is slim.
